Nice style

3/5

Nicely animated and I liked your style of artwork. Very understated. The music was also nice and fit the atmosphere well.

Like some other reviewers said, the pacing needs some work and the credits were about twice as long as they needed to be. You could probably cut the framerate in half and they would look fine. The humor was there, but quicker pacing would have helped it a lot. There were also a few "shortcuts" I noticed in the animation, but nothing to really complain about.

(And for a moment I thought the guy was going to steal the other guy's money out of his wallet after he fell asleep. I would've, but then again, I'm a horrible person.)

Very impressive

4/5

I was very impressed by the quality of the animation. Excellent work, and true to the characters. I especially liked that the characters were all a little on the short side, much like their 8-bit counterparts. The effects work was also nicely done without being overly flashy.

I wasn't a big fan of the music you chose, it was a little too light and took away from the intensity of the animation. Mega Man games have a lot of great, intense, pulse-pounding themes you could use - I would try using something else. Also, sound effects would have been nice but I think you were going for a opening credits-like feel so it wasn't a big loss.

But still, a near-perfect animation. Hope this leads to something great in the future.

Good idea, but kind of quiet

3/5

I liked the idea behind this. Hopefully not entirely based on real life. I also liked the music (of course, since most of it was mine :) )

There were some issues though. Voice acting would definitely have improved this. The dialogue bubbles were good and well-timed, but no one wants to read an animated cartoon. The music was also a little on the quiet side, and the lack of sound effects was noticeable. The pacing could have been a lot snappier.

But these are minor issues that can be easily fixed, and I look forward to your future work.

Hey man, Thanks for the review..i know i need voices in it but sadly my mic is cocked up lol..

Surprised at the low score...

4/5

I thought this was a brilliant little audio-visual mix. The graphics are nice and smooth and the animation was great, especially considering you did it in a day. The music was very well done - I'm doing a similar remix of the Mario overworld theme with the same kind of beat and use of sound effects, so I can appreciate your skills. The only thing that bothered me? Pac-Man does NOT have eyes! That is WRONG!!! Shame on you!

Otherwise, great flash. :)

Stylish, but nothing new

First off, I have to give you points for style. The animation is pretty sharp and the 3-D effects, while they don't mesh too well with the 2-D characters, are still very nicely done. The music also fit the tone of the animation, and the voice acting was pretty good.

The problem is, the characters look very generic. If you're going to do anime, you have to put a twist on the character designs. Otherwise your characters will just blend in with everything else out there.

As for the plot, it's nothing new. The "search for one's own identity / past" has been done many, many times before. And while your intro gets the point of the series across, it's goes on a bit too long and is excessively wordy. Sometimes it's better to keep things short and simple.

Still, it's got style, and I look forward to the next installments.

Not an anime fan, but still good

3/5

It's good for what it is - but I'm just not really a fan of the anime style. The music was good, the designs and animation were good but a little too fast-paced, and the message was nice. I'm just not into anime though. I'm sure someone who's into that style would get more out of it than me.

Better than I expected...

3/5

That's a high 3, though. At first it seemed like your average Mario flash - a big fight scene with boring sound effects. And that's what it was until Bowser busted out his Super Mario World flying cup rendered in 8-bit graphics. That's when things got interesting. I liked how elements of the 16-bit world were simplified into 8-bit and the fight scenes became a little more interesting.

But there were still a lot of drawbacks. The sound effects were boring to listen to and very repetitive. And if you're gonna go for the violence, then go for it! It needed more blood and guts.

Otherwise everything was pretty good. The sprites were good and the animation was smooth. The music was passable, and the story was non-existent (but that's forgivable in this kind of animation). Keep up the good work.

I'm a ridiculously talented cartoonist, writer, and semi-professional filmmaker who uses none of that talent while working at a grocery store.
